কোনো উপদেশ অন্যকে দেওয়ার আগে নিজেকে তা পালন করতে হবে। উপদেশ দেওয়া আর উপদেশ পালন করা এক কথা নয়। উপদেশ দেওয়া যত সহজ, উপদেশ পালন তত সহজ নয়। কারণ উপদেশদাতাকে আগে উপদেশটি পালন করে দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করতে হয়। তা না হলে তার উপদেশ পালন করতে কেউ আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করবে না।
প্রতিনিয়তই আমরা নিজ পরিবার থেকে শুরু করে সমাজের নানা স্তরের মানুষ, বন্ধু-বান্ধব একে অন্যকে নানা বিষয়ে উপদেশ দিই। যে উপদেশ দেওয়া হলো কিংবা যে নীতির কথা বলা হলো সেই গুণাবলি নিজের মধ্যে রয়েছে কি না তা আমরা খুব কমই বিবেচনা করি। অবলীলায় আমরা সবাইকে ভালো হওয়ার উপদেশ দিই, অথচ বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই নিজেরা ভালো নই। সুতরাং আমাদের সবারই উচিত অন্যকে ভালো মানুষ হওয়ার উপদেশ দেওয়ার আগে নিজেরা ভালো মানুষে পরিণত হওয়া। একইভাবে যিনি উপদেশদানে যোগ্য নেতা হবেন, তাঁকে সবার আগে অবশ্যই নেতৃত্ব দেওয়ার মতো গুণাবলি অর্জন করতে হবে।
পৃথিবীর উন্নত জাতিগুলোর ইতিহাস পর্যালোচনা করলে আমরা জানতে পারি, তারা তাদের চেষ্টা ও সাধনার মাধ্যমেই প্রতিষ্ঠার শীর্ষস্থানে অধিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। একটি শিশুকে মিষ্টি না খাওয়ার উপদেশ দেওয়ার জন্য ১৫ দিন চেষ্টা করে তিনি মিষ্টি খাওয়া ত্যাগ করেছিলেন-এ কথা কে না জানে। বস্তুত, নিজের জীবনে মহৎ গুণাবলি অর্জন করতে পারলেই অন্যকে মহৎ হওয়ার উপদেশ দেওয়ার যোগ্যতা অর্জন করা যায়।
আমাদেরও উচিত অন্যকে উপদেশ দেওয়ার আগে নিজেকে সে বিষয়ে যোগ্য করে তোলা। যে বিষয় নিজে পালন করব না তার সম্পর্কে উপদেশ দেওয়ার অধিকার কারো নেই।

Human rights mean the basic needs of human life. Everybody can expect to get these needs as a human being. These needs are essential for the physical, mental, and spiritual development of both men and women. The basic human rights are freedom of speech, security of life, right of citizenship, right to vote, right for education and justice and so on. The children of our country do not get proper rights - right of education, right of medical treatment, right of proper food, etc. The women of our country are being deprived of their rights. They are the victims of gender discrimination. They do not get proper food, clothing, education, freedom of speech, etc. Most of the women are deprived of equal labour benefits because they are not thought to be equal to men in the workforce. Usually women work longer than men but get less money. Many people cannot enjoy their religious rights. In the world the people are suffering inhumanly. Voting right is not ensured properly in our society. Proper steps should be taken to ensure women's rights. Women have already started working in different fields. They are becoming doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, etc. Women should be properly educated and employed. They should be given power in different spheres of life. They should be made aware of their rights and duties. Their security of life should be ensured at any cost. Seminars and discussion meetings should be organized to highlight the importance of establishing human rights especially children's rights and women's rights. People should be made conscious of their rights.
