মেট্রোরেল প্রকল্পটি ঢাকা ম্যাস ট্রানজিট কোম্পানি লিমিটেড এর অধীনে রাজধানী ঢাকায় তীব্র যানজট ও যানজট নিরসনের জন্য একটি সময়োপযোগী এবং যুগান্তকারী প্রকল্প। রাজধানী ঢাকার প্রায় দেড় কোটি জনসংখ্যার বিপুল সংখ্যক যাত্রী ও যানবাহনের চাপ সামাল দিতে মেট্রোরেলের মতো গণপরিবহন একটি কার্যকর বিকল্প ব্যবস্থা হতে পারে। মেট্রোরেল একটি বৈদ্যুতিক যান। উড়াল রোডে বিছানো রেললাইনের উপর দিয়ে আরো আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা সম্পন্ন ট্রেন চলাচল করবে। রাজধানীর উত্তরা থেকে মতিঝিল পর্যন্ত মেট্রোরেলের দৈর্ঘ্য হবে ২০ দশমিক ০১ কিলোমিটার। দীর্ঘ এই রুটে ১৬টি স্টেশন থাকবে। ২৮ ডিসেম্বর প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা উত্তরা থেকে আগারগাঁও অংশের মেট্রোরেল উদ্বোধনের আনুষ্ঠানিকতা শেষ করেন। এর মধ্যে প্রথম ধাপে উত্তরা থেকে আগারগাঁও পর্যন্ত ৯টি স্টেশন থাকবে। প্রতিটি ট্রেনে ৬টি করে বগি থাকবে। প্রতিটি কক্ষ হবে প্রশস্ত এবং শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত। যাত্রীদের জন্য আরামদায়ক আসন থাকবে। নারীদের জন্য থাকবে বিশেষায়িত বগি। উত্তরা-মতিঝিল রুটে চলবে ১৪টি ট্রেন। প্রতিটি ট্রেনে ৯৪২ জন বসার যাত্রী এবং ৫৭৪ জন দাঁড়ানো যাত্রী বহন করতে পারে। ট্রেনটি ঘন্টায় ৩২ কিমি বেগে চূড়ান্ত গন্তব্যে পৌঁছাতে 38 মিনিট সময় নেয়। যাত্রীরা স্বয়ংক্রিয় কার্ডের মাধ্যমে মেশিনে ভাড়া পরিশোধ করবেন। ভাড়া সর্বোচ্চ নির্ধারিত হয়েছে সর্বনিম্ন ২০ টাকা, সর্বোচ্চ ১০০ টাকা। মেট্রোরেল প্রকল্পের সম্ভাব্য সমাপ্তি ২০২৫ সাল।

Padma Bridge The longest bridge in Bangladesh is the Padma Multipurpose Bridge. This dream Padma Bridge is the biggest project implemented by Bangladesh without any foreign aid. Construction began on December 6, 2014, and by November 2020, 92% of the bridge was completed.
According to China Major Bridge Engineering Company, the contractor constructing the Padma Bridge, the Padma Bridge will be ready for traffic by April 2022. The project will directly benefit more than 30 million people (44,000 sq km which is 29% of the total area of Bangladesh). Completion of this bridge at a cost of over Tk 30,000 crore will make a significant contribution to the social, economic and industrial development of the southern part of Bangladesh. The bridge will play an important role in regional connectivity between Asia and Southeast Asia. The Padma Bridge, the dream of the people of Bangladesh, is on the way to be realized today.
Although the World Bank and donors withdrew due to allegations of corruption, the Bangladesh government did not back down. The government decided to build the bridge with its own funds and the work is progressing accordingly. Work on the Padma Bridge is progressing at a normal pace. Everyone concerned is hoping that the construction work of the bridge will be completed within the stipulated time.
