Human Rights
Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that are entitled to every person regardless of race, gender, nationality, religion, or any other status. These rights. include the right to life. liberty and security of person, freedom from torture and slavery: freedom of expression and religion; the right to work and education; and the right to participate in government. It is the responsibility of governments to protect and promote these rights for all individuals within their jurisdiction Human rights are essential for a fair and just society, and the protection and promotion of these rights must be a top priority for all nations.
