Digital marketing: There are the days of online sales and digital downloads. Marketers are scurrying to keep up with the boom in e-commerce creating a slew of roles to best target internet users. Digital marketing specialists work to create strong online marketing strategies, they want to attract and engage customers on their organization's website, social media and other digital platform.

Data Analyst: One of the biggest trends in the digital economy is the collection and processing of data. A data analyst would be tasked with using both business and technology skills to collect and interpret data relevant to the organization. Data analysts are responsible for finding patterns and statistics that can help inform and improve business's internal and external operation decisions.

IOT solution architects: IOT or the internet of things in one of the most up-and-coming trends in technology. IOT refers to a connected network of devices. This doesn't just mean a network of computers though, think of being able to lock the doors to your house with your phone or adjust the temperature of your refrigerator from a tablet. IOT solution architects are thus needed to co-ordinate the integration of technology with physical everyday items.

Search engine like 'Google' are what help enable this marketing. Marketers seek out relevant questions and searches from consumers and create content that helps address those questions and searches.

Information securing analyst: Information security analysts are cyber security pros. They work with business to help protect their computer network and systems and to step in when security breaches occurs.

Freelancer: Freelancer job marketplaces include apps and websites such as fiver, up work, freelancer and even Craig list. They let freelancers showcase their skills, attract clients and build flexible schedules.

The digital economy and all its components has changed the would drastically in the past ten years. Keeping up-to-date on the latest trends and news in the tech world is a start.
