In a certain factory there stood a huge and complicated machine. It had so many parts and was driven by a series of wheels, linked one with another. These wheels were not of the same size. At the top there was a giant wheel and then the sizes gradually became smaller and smaller till right at the bottom there was a very tiny wheel. When the electricity was switched on, all the wheels would
begin to turn and soon the machine would be summing merrily, doing the work for which it was designed. Visitors would come to admire the machine and particularly the big wheels. No one spared ever a glance for the tiny little wheel. One day, the tiny wheel said to itself, "No one looks at me. I am so small that I am thought of no use to the machine. Why should I continue toiling hour after hour and day after day? Let me rest". And so the tiny wheel stopped turning. Do you know what happened then? The small wheel near the tiny one suddenly found that it could not move and the next one was affected and soon right up to the biggest wheel and the whole machine came to a halt.
