While out on picnic , a group of boys came an apple tree. One of the boy of the boys climes the tree and picked enough apples for each boy to have three, with none left over. Then came three boys, making it impossible to divide the picked apples, with left over. How many apples were finally divided?

Let, primarily, there were x number of boys

Now, number of apples picked up=3x

After arrival of 3 boys, total number of boys = (x+3)

After picking up 1 more apple, total apples = (3x+1)

According to question,

$\frac{(3 x + 1)}{x + 3} = 2 \Rightarrow 3 x + 1 = 2 x + 6 \Rightarrow 3 x - 2 x = 6 - 1 \Rightarrow x = 5 T h e y f i n a l l y d i v i d e d = 3 x + 1 = (3 \times 5) + 1 = 16 a p p l e s . a n s .$

Mr. Zakir gave 40% of the money he had, to his wife . He also gave 20% of the remaining amount to each of his three sons. Half of the amount now left was spent of miscellaneous items and the remaining amount of Tk. 12,000 was deposited in the bank. How much money did Mr. Zakir have initiailly?

Initially Mr. Zakir had 100 Tk.

After giving 40% money to his wife, he had (100-40)=60 Tk.

Now, he will give 20% to each of 3 sons

So, he gives $(3 \times 20 %)$ to his 3 son with total = (60% of 60) Tk.

Now he has $(60 \times 40 %) = 24$ Tk. left

After spending 50% on miscellaneous items, he has (50% of 24)= 12 Tk.

Now, has 12 if initial balance is 100 Tk.

He has 12,000 Tk. if initial balance is $\frac{100 \times 12000}{12}$ ans. He has initially 1,00,000 Tk.
