An order was placed for supply of carpet of breadth 3 meters. The length of carpet was 1.44 times of breadth. Subsequently, the breadth and length were increased by 25 and 40 percent respectively. At the rate of Rs. 45 per square meter, what would be the increase in the cost of the carpet?

Given that breadth = 3 meter

$∴$ Length will bc = 3 $\times$ 1.44 = 4.32 meter

$∴$ Area = 3 $\times$ 4.32 = 12.96 m²

New breadth=3 $\times \frac{125}{100} = 3.75 m e t e r$

New length 4.32 $\times \frac{140}{100} = 6.048 m e t e r$

$∴$ New area =3.75 $\times$ 6.048=22.68 m²

$∴$ Total cost increases = 45 $\times$ 9.72=437.4 taka.
