Given that, a+1a=3 L.H.S= a4+1a4=(a2)2+(1a2)2=(a2+1a2)-2×a2×1a2[a2+b2=(a+b)2-2ab] =(a2+1a2)2-2={(a-1a)2+2×a×1a}2-2 ={(3)2+2}2-2  =(9+2)2-2  =112-2 =121-2 =119 L.H.S.=R.H.S.(Proved)

5 years age, mother's age was 4x years & daughter's age was x years

There present age will be (4x + 5) and (x + 5) years respectively.

According to the question,

4x + 5 + x + 5 = 60

=5x + 10 = 60

= 5x = 60 - 10

x=505=10

After 10 years, they will be = (4x + 5 + 10) : (x + 5 + 10) = (4 × 10 + 5 + 10) : (10 + 5 + 10)

= (40 + 15) : 25 = 55 : 25 = 11 : 5

Let, number of total bench is x

Number of students = 5x - (4 × 5) = 5x - 20

In second case, number of students will bc = 3x + 20

According to the question,

From equation (ii)

2x = 5y + 3

Multiplying equation (iii) by 2 and subtracting it from equation (i), we get

Putting (y = 5) in equation (ii) we get,

2x = 5y + 3

=2x = (5 × 5) + 3 = 25 + 3 = 28
