ষাটোর্ধ্ব মুক্তিযোদ্ধা স্বর্ণলতা ফলিয়া কাজ করছেন বীরাঙ্গনাদের সংগঠিতকরণ ও পুনর্বাসনের। ৮ নম্বর সেক্টরের এই মুক্তিযোদ্ধা হেমায়েত বাহিনীর অধীনে যুদ্ধ করেছেন। নারিকেলবাড়ী ক্যাম্প থেকে প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে মহিলা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংগ্রহের পাশাপাশি নিজেও অনেক সশস্ত্র যুদ্ধে অংশ নেন। এরপর দেশ স্বাধীন হলে বীরাঙ্গনাদের পুনর্বাসনের কার্যক্রম শুরু করেন। সেই থেকে দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের ৩৬ জন বীরাঙ্গনাকে একত্র করে তাদের চিকিৎসা, চাকরি এবং অধিকার আদায়ের কাজে নিজেকে নিয়োজিত রেখেছেন স্বর্ণলতা। স্বর্ণলতার জন্ম ১৯৫৪ সালের ৬ অক্টোবর গোপালগঞ্জ জেলার কোটালীপাড়া উপজেলার সোনাইলবাড়ী গ্রামে। কৃষক বাবা নিশিকান্ত ফলিয়া ও মা মারিয়া ফলিয়ার সাত সন্তানের মধ্যে তিনি পঞ্চম। কোটালীপাড়া উপজেলার নারিকেলবাড়ি মিশনারি স্কুলের নবম শ্রেণীতে পড়ার সময় দেশে বেজে উঠে যুদ্ধের দামামা। একদিন আশালতা বৈদ্য এসে বললেন, “দেশে যুদ্ধ শুরু হচ্ছে, আমিতো যুদ্ধ করবো। তোরা কে কে আমার সাথে যুদ্ধে যাবি।” - এ কথা শুনে স্বর্ণলতা চুপ থাকতে পারেনি। এক কথায়ই রাজি হয়ে গেলেন । আশালতা বৈদ্যের সাথে যুদ্ধের ট্রেনিং নেয়ার আগে সহপাঠী বন্ধুরা মিলে এলাকায় ঘুরতেন আর মহিলা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জোগাড় করতেন। আর সুযোগ পেলেই বন্ধুদের সাথে ঘরের মা-বোনদের নিয়ে “অস্ত্র ধরো, স্বাধীন বাংলা রক্ষা কর" শ্লোগান দিতেন। পরবর্তী সময়ে আরো ৩০ জন সদস্য নিয়ে তিনি হেমায়েত বাহিনীর কাছ থেকে অস্ত্র চালনার প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহণ করেন। যুদ্ধে বেশ কয়েকটি অপারেশনে অংশ নিলেও দুটি অপারেশন ছিল উল্লেখযোগ্য। এর একটিতে পাকবাহিনীর বেশ কয়েকটি লঞ্চ ডুবিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন। আর একটি অপারেশন করেছিলেন। নদীতে। সেই অপারেশনে তার পাশে থাকা দুই মুক্তিযোদ্ধা শহীদ হন, বীরবিক্রম হেমায়েত উদ্দিনের পায়ে গুলি লাগে। অল্পের জন্য সেদিন প্রানে বেঁচে গেলেও আহত হয়েছিলেন স্বর্ণলতা।
